Hi, I'm Shawn!

Thanks for visiting my site! If you're taking the time to read this, thanks for being curious about me. Allow me to share a bit about myself with you since you're taking the time to visit this page about me.

Photos have always been a passion of mine. Since childhood, I have been infatuated with the way that a photo has the singular capability to freeze time, moments, expressions, and environments, so that you can just hang on to a moment forever. I love capturing unique photos and memories bursting with love to show other people the way that I see the world. I just love them, I love photos wholeheartedly.

I think that my passion for photography is rooted by a few different life-long loves of mine. First, is my uncanny affection for sunlight. I mean 'photos' literally means 'light' in Greek. I could spend my entire life in the sun if that was in any way feasible for a pasty, white girl in this California sun. Next, would be how much I enjoy the observation of people. I love candid shots, I could take them all day long. This is what makes my job SO FUN - is the fact that I actually love to watch what makes you, YOU and capture that for keeps. I like to make every session unique to every client. I want to capture your style and your essence. I'm assuming you're here reading all of this because you are interested in my style too.

Photos are my way of sharing my unique perspective with the world. It disappoints me that as an extremely visual person, I've never been very good at expressive arts like drawing, painting, or playing music. I like the way I can express my vision, what I see, with the world through capturing a photo. It is where my I can allow my creativity to soar.

So, yeah. There's some deep, intellectual stuff about me. On that note - signing off with 3 fun facts to lighten the mood.

  1. I own and drive a 2015 Honda Accord with a manual transmission, I love it more than life. Would NOT buy a black car again though unless it came with someone to wash it, too.
  2. My favorite Spotify playlist right now contains John Mellencamp, E-40, and My Chemical Romance.
  3. I have no children myself, but I do have a god-daughter, Olivia and a fur-baby Lewis who I adopted from my local animal control facility.
